Chicken Time

Okay, I'm gonna do some shameless self-promotion here!!  If you are so inclined, please follow the link I'm going to share and purchase your very own 1st Annual Girls of Dragon Valley Calendar!!! Brought to you by popular demand on Facebook.  I think you'll enjoy it.  I told the girls that if they are not going to lay many eggs....they gonna have to make me some money some other way!
Seriously, I very much appreciate any purchases and I think you'll be pleased with the quality of these calendars.  I've used Lulu for a few years now and they make a good product.  Order now and you can be assured of getting them before Christmas!!  These would make a great gift for any chicken fan and you'll be supporting a small business of someone you know, instead of helping some CEO purchase his 5th house.  Thank you!!

Fantastic! Is Dominique in it? Does she have her own page? I hope she is clothed and not a hussy! Have you renamed her?

My copy should be on its way soon. Ironically, it is being mailed to me so that I can give it to my sister-in-law for Christmas since she is a chicken fanatic and also lives just up the road a ways near Gadsden.

Hey Linda! haha! Yes, she is Ms. December as a matter of fact! and I assure you that her photo shoot was done very tastefully! lol! I have not renamed her other than I occasionally call her Ms. BossyPants. Because she is. You don't have to worry about her getting picked on here, that's for sure. I'll add her photo to this post so you can see what her month looks like.

Hey Ed! That's right, I remember that your brother lives over near Jacksonville? just past Gadsden or so? I appreciate the purchase! thank you.

I wish I could afford the calendar! I wanted the chick-fil-a calendar, too. but, I would rather have yours. I need to get my pen ready for more chickens. I am shocked she is bossy. Well, she has only been in with one other chicken, and that was a rooster about one-fourth her size. She pecked him regularly. I am glad she has a flock to rule...lol. How soon did she lay eggs?

My potatoes may have bitten the dust! We will see if they survive the cold snap that sort of wilted them.

I am still looking for my graters.

Hey Linda! Yes, I wish I could make the calendar more affordable, because I know how that is; not everyone can afford much for something like that plus shipping. Lulu is the best deal I can come up with though, and still make a tiny bit of money myself.
Dominique laid an egg for me within the week after we got her, if I remember right. She laid pretty regularly and then they all quit for the winter! ha! Actually , she may have laid an egg today. I saw her on the nest but forgot to check later. When she gets older she may decide to be matriarch, and that's fine. So far, I have not had another hen step up to take Bertha's place.

My potatoes bit it after that first real cold snap about 2 weeks ago. But they were in a big raised bed out in the garden. I was surprised they made it that long.

Oh, I understand about the calendar. Dominique laid very small eggs. As large as she is, I sort of thought her eggs would be larger. I am so happy that she is happy. The fact I wanted her to be treated well kept me from finding a new home sooner.
